How We Rank

Rankings are based on objective signals: verified review volume, average rating, profile completeness, and recent activity. Location filters prioritize proximity to the user’s city.

Last updated: February 2026

Core ranking signals

  • Review quality and recency, with de-duplication applied.

  • Verified status when business identity is confirmed.

  • Service coverage and responsiveness in the target area.

  • Profile completeness, including licensing and contact details.

Sample ranking calculation

Example: A contractor with strong recent reviews (90/100), verified status (100/100), good coverage (80/100), complete profile (85/100), and fresh updates (70/100) would score:

(90 x 0.35) + (100 x 0.20) + (80 x 0.20) + (85 x 0.15) + (70 x 0.10) = 87.25

Scores are normalized per market so dense metros do not overpower smaller regions.

What does not affect rankings

Paid placements are labeled and never blended into organic results. Providers cannot edit reviews or inflate ratings. Advertising does not change rank position.

Data refresh cadence

We refresh listings regularly and re-check verification signals when new evidence is provided. If you spot an error, contact the editorial team to request a review.
